Tourism in Nantes
Nantes and its essential visits
The city of Nantes attracts more and more tourists who come to admire and learn about its history. Numerous monuments and places in Nantes are a delight for history buffs.
We can mention, among others, the Castle of the "Dukes of Brittany", the Saint Pierre Cathedral, the Lu Tower (famous for its "petits buturres LU"), the Maillé Brézé Ship, the Passage Pommeraye, the Graslin Opera House...
Nantes' cultural events
Nantes is today one of the most lively provincial cities in France, thanks in particular to its new stars: "Les Machines de l'Île". The Machines de l'Île are designed to make Nantes a dynamic, innovative and pleasant city to live in.
Numerous events are scattered throughout the year. Mainly cultural or spectacular, like the Royal Deluxe troupe, a street theatre company based in Nantes, Nantes' events take place in early spring.
Below is a video of Royal Deluxe's performance in spring 2011, with "La Petite Géante" and the dog "El Xolo".
In this video, you will get a taste of your visit to Nantes, the banks of the Loire, the Place Royale, Place Graslin... and all the Nantes fervour!
Exponantes
The Nantes Exhibition Centre - La Beaujoire district
Located less than a kilometre from our hotel restaurant, the Nantes Exhibition Centre is located in the heart of the Beaujoire district.
Together with its neighbouring stadium, ExpoNantes is clearly the lungs of the Beaujoire district. Adjacent to the Erdre River, the building suite blends in perfectly with nature, thanks in particular to the floral park and the Beaujoire rose garden, which are just a stone's throw away.
Every year, various events are organised, including professional, cultural and sporting events! In total, ExpoNantes attracts more than half a million visitors every year.
Le Voyage à Nantes
What is it?
Since the beginning of the 2010s, Nantes has been transformed into a great playground for visitors from all walks of life. Over the few months, straddling spring and summer, Nantes modulates itself, Nantes moves, Nantes metamorphoses: the Voyage À Nantes was thus created.
From then on, this annual event has become a cult event for tourists but also for locals as it allows them to rediscover, sometimes with a very different eye, the charms of the nooks and crannies of their city.
La Beaujoire Stadium
the place of all possibilities
Football aficionados will have fond memories of this stadium, where the Nantes' city team has been playing for nearly 40 years. But there is more to La Beaujoire than just the yellow and green colours of the Football Club Nantes Atlantique shirt.
Indeed, since its construction, La Beaujoire has been able to host many sporting and cultural events
